Floating and sinking is a fun science concept for students to explore. The Floating and Sinking Learning tray was set up for grade-2 learners. They were invited to play, experiment, and explore how and why different objects float and sink when placed into water. This hands-on experiment allowed them to see which objects sink and which float. Students were explained that lighter objects are more likely to stay on the surface of the water, and heavier objects are more likely to sink to the bottom of the tub. Few students were surprised by their results as they made connections with real-life experiences. This fun-filled activity also helped in student's language development when they used descriptive words to express ideas and opinions.
