'There is one universal truth applicable to all countries, cultures and communities that violence against women is never acceptable, never excusable and never tolerable'
To mark the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women which is celebrated every year on 25th November, students of Grade 6 conducted a special assembly. They apprised everyone of the prevailing problem of violence against women and the atrocities that they have to go through. UNESCO organises 16 days of activism beginning from this day to create awareness among people. They discussed about the various ways like gender equality, pay due respect and women empowerment through which the violence against women can be reduced. Women should be made socially and financially self reliant so that they can face the challenges of life. Students presented their talents by renditions which inspired us to endeavour to stop violence against women and work for women emancipation. They also took a pledge that they will raise their voices for their rights.
