Vedas - the first book of universal knowledge and wisdom says, 'Bhumi Mata Putroaham'- which means 'Earth is my mother, I am her son.' This is one of the essences of ancient Indian philosophy. Every effort to protect and respect mother earth is an effort to protect ourselves and our generations to come. In order to celebrate and gather support for the protection of our Earth's environment, an event, Earth Day, is celebrated worldwide every year on the 22nd of April. In order to imbibe a sense of gratitude and duty towards Mother Earth, the students participated in art and craft activities and eco-friendly activities where they exchanged their plants with their friends. The basic motive behind each activity was to sensitize and make our tiny tots recognize and reflect upon the sensitivities of our beautiful earth and its natural environment. Since the earth is the only planet in the universe where we have air to breathe and water to drink, hence we should conserve the environment.
