NAVRASA-A MONUMENTAL JOURNEY INTO THE REALM OF HUMAN EMOTIONS

In an ostentatious and grandiose display of the ‘Nine Emotions’, Presidians undertook a journey into the realm of emotions titled ‘Navrasa’. The theatrical performances were woven into a tapestry of dance and music by them at Kamani auditorium on 3rd August. It was an effort to sculpt the art of students and present it in the form of a musical theatre. 

The audience was immersed in the river of emotions and felt them like never before. They were swayed and moved by the dramatic finesse on display along with the perfect notes of music in symphony with flawless dance moves. Parents and teachers were equally enthralled by the enchanting depiction of the 9 emotions, their unending praise and applause was a proof to the huge success of the act.

The concept of 9 rasa’s guides students into understanding the human emotions better and also inculcates respect for the rich cultural heritage of India. The presentation indeed opened new vistas for students and unravelled the creative acumen in them.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS-DECODING THE GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS

Global issues such as the environmental crisis are a menace for the human race. Discussions and debates on such issues play a key role in raising student awareness and fostering skills to contribute on a global level and come up with possible solutions. To bring students to the preface of the United Nations and familiarise them with its working and contributions, an interactive academic simulation was organised, famously known as the Presidium Model United Nations (PMUN).

At the session, the students divulged into the topics pertaining to the existential crisis that the environmental problems have created. Such encouraging rhetoric sessions challenge students to broaden their outlook, undertake responsibility, and holistically develop a sense of global citizenship in them thus leading them to join hands in the cause of saving mankind.

LEADERS OF TOMORROW CROWNED AT INVESTITURE CEREMONY-INDIRAPURAM

The Investiture Ceremony, 2016, witnessed the young Presidians being honoured with prestigious positions in the school’s Student Council by the Hon’ble Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta and the Presidium family. She congratulated the students, teachers and the parents on the joyous occasion and extended warm wishes to the students for a bright year ahead.


At the ceremony, some of the coveted titles bestowed upon the students were - School Head Girl, Head Boy, Cultural Head, Sports Head, President Social Cause, Club Presidents and their respective councils. At the event, Junior School Council was also felicitated, thus giving learning and leadership opportunities at an even younger age. Presidians received the new roles and responsibilities with grace and dignity. The charismatic oath instilled confidence on their intention and capabilities. The decorated badges filled their hearts with both joy and gratitude towards their parents, teachers and school.

We are proud to announce that our young achievers of Grade 10, from Presidium, have scored outstanding results in Boards, for the academic session 2015-16.

The results are as follows:
Indirapuram, 81 out of 138, i.e. 59% students have topped the boards with a CGPA of 10.

HISTORY UNFOLDS AS PRESIDIANS FROM INDIRAPURAM EXPLORE HERITAGE SITES OF DELHI

“If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten."RUDYARD KIPLING. Following the same belief, students from Grade VII and VIII, were taken on an enrichng ‘Itihaas walk’ as a part of their PBL curriculum. The walk was organised by the ITIHAAS group, to observe and explore the epitomes of Mughal architecture in the capital—The Qutub Minar and Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah. At the walk, the students were enlightened about the famous world heritage sites and were left absolutely bedazzled listening to the adventurous stories about the different rulers of that era and their contribution to the impeccable historical monuments of India. The students not just had a wonderful time listening to the stories during the walk but they also participated in fun exercises like measuring the height of the Alai Darwaza and the circumference of the Iron pillar at the Qutub Minar premises. It was indeed an enriching and knowledgeable experience for the students who learnt the magnificence of Indian history and culture.

BUDDING SCIENTISTS OF PRESIDIUM INDIRAPURAM EXPLORE THE NUTRIENTS IN FOOD

Experiential learning always lead to a better understanding of concepts. With this thought practical demonstrations were conducted to help the students at Presidium, learn about the presence of nutrients in food. Middle school students conducted various experiments to test the presence of starch, proteins and fats in some given food items. They learnt about how different food tests are done to identify these nutrients. For e.g.-to test the presence of protein in food, copper sulphate and caustic soda should be added to the food solution and if it turns violet, presence of protein is confirmed. The experiments made the entire concept logical, simpler and interesting for the students to understand, learn and remember.

PRESIDIUM INDIRAPURAM CELEBRATED THE BOND OF LOVE ON MOTHERS DAY

There is no love in this world greater than that of a mother for her child. Celebrating this precious and unconditional love of a mother, special assemblies marking 'Mother's Day', were held for the whole week across all schools of Presidium. Children from all grades participated in various activities organised for them. As a token of love and gratitude for their mothers, they made special hand crafted gifts and bouquets for them.The children also performed on heart-touching songs and dance sequences. It was a memorable moment indeed to see children valuing the greatest bond of love on earth-a mother’s love!

The major and much-awaited event of the year, THE CHAIRPERSON HONOURS (April 2016 Meet) was held at Indirapuram on 27th April, with great aplomb. At the grand ceremony our Hon’ble Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta, felicitates the young leaders of tomorrow for their extraordinary achievements in various fields including Academics, Sports and Co-curricular activities. More than 350 students will be felicitated in this April-May meet. Till now the ceremony has proved to be a heart warming and exhilarating experience for the parents as they witnessed their wards being acknowledged for their hard work and achievements.

The students from Nursery to Grade 5th joined hands to kick start a series of educational and fun activities to raise awareness on issues related to environmental protection. The theme for Day 1 was ‘Water Conservation’.
