Krishna Janmashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, to celebrate which, a special assembly was recently conducted at Presidium Indirapuram by the children of Pre-Primary grade. With immense enthusiasm and grandeur, the spiritual and religious significance of this pious festival was explained to the students through dramatization and role play. Children came dressed in beautiful colourful outfits as Krishna and Radha. The boys wore peacock feather head-gears and carried flutes, whereas the girls carried decorated matkis. Adorned in gorgeous attires, the tiny tots drew huge applause and appreciation from all. The story of the birth of ‘Lord Krishna’ was narrated and beautifully enacted by our little kids with ‘mach gaya shor saari nagri re’ song being played in the background. The lifting of ‘Govardhan Parvat’ on the finger and ‘dahi handi or matki phod ’ sport enacted by the kids were the highlights of the show. Excitedly celebrating the occasion by singing and dancing, the Presidians were motivated to follow the path of truth and honesty and shun evil.
