“Rivers are the arteries of our planet; they are lifelines in the truest sense.” - Mark Angelo
World Rivers Day is a celebration of the world’s waterways. It highlights the importance of rivers and strives to increase public awareness about the threats the water resources around the world face today. To carry forward the initiative students of grade 2 and 3 of Presidium Indirapuram organised a campaign with the help of their teachers to spread awareness about the importance of water and how one can conserve water for future generations. They also talked about the need for the cleaning of rivers around them. A ‘Rally for Rivers’ was also also organised in the school premises where the students voiced slogans like ‘Water= Life, Conserve= Future’, ‘Every drop of Ocean counts’ and ‘Nadi Bachao, Pani Badao’. Their efforts were acknowledged and appreciated by everyone in the school. The day ended with a pledge to save rivers and to save water.
