Diwali is a festival that marks the return of Lord Rama from fourteen years of exile and his victory over the demon Ravana. Students of pre-primary and grade 3 celebrated this festival with full zeal and enthusiasm. They were dressed up in colorful clothes. They started their day with morning prayer followed by a short story explaining the reason for celebrating Diwali. They were made to understand that Diwali is not only the festival of celebration, but it also gives us the message of friendship and equality. Students were engrossed in a beautiful craft activity wherein they made a Diya and rangoli using coloured paper, pulses, dry glitters, and various decorative materials. The class ended with enthusiastic songs and dance performances by our tiny tots.
