PRESIDIANS THROW LIGHT ON YOUTH ENGAGEMENT FOR GLOBAL ACTION!

Celebrated on August 12 of every year, the International Youth Day draws attention to the issues faced by youth all over the world. The awareness day is celebrated after the United Nations' initiative to focus on the world's youth. The theme of International Youth Day 2020, is "Youth Engagement for Global Action" seeks to highlight how the engagement of young people at the local, national and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes. To celebrate the International Youth Day, Presidium had organized a Radio Show Activity for the students to understand the importance and need of youth for their country. The students of grade 7 and 8 presented different topics like education, health, mental and physical well being, ways to engage youth for the development of the economy through presenting a radio show. The activity gave students the opportunity to understand themselves and their capability in a better way. The Presidians also gave a wonderful message through this activity, "Empowerment through education has the ability to bring positive change to the lives of young people and release them from the grip of poverty."

PRESIDIANS MARK THE BIRTHDAY OF LORD KRISHNA WITH ARDOUR!

"Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in Bhadon. This day indicated the beginning of hope in the older times; hope, that the malicious rule of Kansa would soon end. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated by grade 3 students with mirth and joy. While this religious importance was not lost, this day signifies a lot more to modern India. The spirit of festivity was enhanced with the feelings of devotion towards Lord Krishna by decorating 'Dahi Haandi.' It was fascinating to see students engaged in the task and beautifully depicting their creativity and innovation in the form of Decorations. They were also guided by their teachers that they could decorate Jhoola, mukut and other belongings of Lord Krishna

PRESIDIANS DELIBERATE POWERFULLY AT PRESIDIUM MUN 2020

A great initiative was taken up by the Presidium to organize the ‘Presidium Model United Nations’ on the online platform of Zoom. It was open for all the students with an internet connection and a desire to collaborate and discuss the world’s most pressing issues in the current time. The issue being Covid-19, the committees discussed solutions to problems occurring during the pandemic across the globe. Young delegates expressed strong opinions and smart ideas for the better achievement of World security. The conference functioned very smoothly, and students who won awards at the conference were:

2. Aadya Bakshi- High Commendation(AIPPM)
3. Sanya Goel- Special Mention(WHO)
4. Tamanna Verma- Special Mention(UNSC)

The students had a great time and look forward to participating in other events organized as well.

PRESIDIANS EXPLORE & ENJOY FLOAT & SINK ACTIVITY!

Floating and sinking is a fun science concept for students to explore. The Floating and Sinking Learning tray was set up for grade-2 learners. They were invited to play, experiment, and explore how and why different objects float and sink when placed into water. This hands-on experiment allowed them to see which objects sink and which float. Students were explained that lighter objects are more likely to stay on the surface of the water, and heavier objects are more likely to sink to the bottom of the tub. Few students were surprised by their results as they made connections with real-life experiences. This fun-filled activity also helped in student's language development when they used descriptive words to express ideas and opinions.

PRESIDIANS ENJOY PLACE VALUE FLOWER ACTIVITY!

"The only way to learn Mathematics is to do Mathematics." To create an interesting way to make students experience the magic of numbers, the ‘Place Value Flower’ making activity was organized in Grade 3 wherein students made a Place Value Flower using colourful papers. They made a beautiful flower and then represented the place value of a given number in different ways on its petals. This activity helped them recapitulate their understanding of the place value of four-digit numbers. Students performed the activity with great interest and made gorgeous place value flowers.

RAKSHA BANDHAN: CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF LOVE & CAMARADERIE!

Rakhi is a bond of love and togetherness. It is a thread that binds our lives and our hearts. This festival celebrates the bond of love and affection between brothers and sisters. To celebrate this bond, our little Presidians were dressed up in Ethnic Attire. They made beautiful Rakhi using colourful papers, beads, and molly. They also tied the knot of affection created by them with their teachers on the wrists of their parents and their siblings. Students were educated about the significance of this festival, also because of which heartwarming memories were created. They were also shown a short video about Raksha Bandhan.

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE FRIENDSHIP, THE ABODE OF LOVE!

The Friendship that blossoms in the tender years play an essential part in the lives of children, and is a life-long bond. Grade-2 students celebrated this bond with great zeal and enthusiasm, as they came donned in the color of Friendship, that is, Yellow. They were told about the importance of the day and had activities related to the same. They made Virtual greeting cards and friendship bands for their friends on MS PAINT and were pretty excited to share it with their friends through Mail or WhatsApp. Grade-3 students celebrated by making beautiful friendship bands using satin ribbon and ice-cream sticks. They used their imagination and creativity and came up with beautiful bands. They discussed the importance of friends in their life and to thank their friends and made a friendship band; a means to show their love and greeting to their best friends.

GLOBAL TIGER DAY: STUDENTS PLEDGE TO PROTECT THE NATIONAL ANIMAL

International Tiger Day has been observed every year since 2010 to promote the protection and expansion of the wild tiger habitats and raise public awareness and support for tiger conservation issues. To promote this cause, our Presidians conducted a special online assembly on 'Save Tigers.' The young leaders talked about important facts about tigers and their pivotal role in balancing & maintaining the ecosystem. They expressed how these magnificent creatures will be on the verge of extinction if we don't join hands to save them. Little Presidians were also engaged in the activity of making papercraft tiger and writing slogans 'SHOOT THE TIGER WITH THE CAMERA NOT WITH THE GUN,' 'LOOK AT THE TIGERS MIGHTY AND STRONG, KILLING THEM FOR THEIR FUR IS VERY WRONG,' and many more. At the end of the session, many students expressed a desire to work someday in the field of conservation of wildlife.

As long as one is focussed and consistent with hard work, results will follow suit. On this note, we take this opportunity to congratulate all our Grade 10 students.
