The most awaited fruit during summers is Mango.' At Presidium, Indirapuram, students of Grade 3 delightfully entered the school premises in order to celebrate the sweet & juicy morning with their schoolmates and teachers.The day started with a general conversation about the king of fruits.Teachers briefed the students about Mangoes being the king of fruits, not only for its taste and fleshy yellow colour but also, for the nutrients it offers like: vitamin-C and vitamin-A. During lunchtime, children shared and relished varieties of mangoes they had brought as 'special tiffins'.The children thoroughly enjoyed the party and will remember it for a long time to come! The Mango festival was celebrated with elatedness and zeal. This might turn out to be the best mango season yet!

Mandela Day is a global call to bring the people around the world together to fight poverty and promote peace. It is an annual International day in honour of Nelson Mandela, celebrated each year on July 18, Mandela’s birthday. Students of Grade 6 began the Assembly with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra followed by a beautiful thought that had come from Nelson Mandela himself. “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.” They all vowed that they will not be afraid of failures and will strive to become risk takers, doers, and achievers. They also presented a skit with placards depicting various excerpts from his life. Students were sensitized to be patient, courageous and more tolerant. They also presented a beautiful song conveying the message of peace and harmony. Everyone took a pledge to make this world a better place to live and not let the sacrifices of this great man go in vain.

GURU PURNIMA:PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE PRESENCE OF GURUS IN LIFE

On the occasion of Guru Purnima, the students of grade 2 hosted a special assembly. The pious day began with the recitation of gayatri mantra. A thought-provoking skit was also performed to make the students aware about the history and essence of Guru Purnima. It subsequently led to an inspirational dance performance which brought out their talent, coordination skills and team work. The assembly not only multiplied their happiness but also helped them immensely in understanding the importance of Guru in a person’s life.

Children draw to express what they are feeling and thinking. When a child draws something familiar to them, they have the opportunity to think about what they know and how they feel about the picture they are drawing. Drawing helps to develop manipulative skills that will assist children to write. Drawing and colouring competition is always one of the most enjoyable competitions since it allows free flow of creativity and imagination. An ‘Art from Heart’ competition was recently organized to explore and encourage creativity in Presidians and offer them a platform to show their skills in drawing and colouring. They participated earnestly in the competition. It was a difficult task thereafter for the class teachers to short list outstanding performers from each class. The students came up with amazing art work at drawing.

A VIBRANT & WONDERFUL BEGINNING OF THE SESSION AFTER VACATIONS

A warm welcome was given by the teachers to little Presidians after a refreshing Summer break. Children were excited for the fun-filled activity organised by the teachers to welcome them wholeheartedly. They were happy to be back to school, meet their teachers and friends after a long break.Our tiny tots enjoyed entering their respective classrooms by choosing a welcome action of their choice like High five, flying kiss, hug, twist etc. It was a vibrant and wonderful re-start of the session again.

RAMADAN MUBARAK! PRESIDIANS HOST A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON EID

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It’s the time for spiritual reflection, prayer, good deeds and spending time with family, friends and loved ones. At Presidium, Ramadan was celebrated with great fervour. The celebrations began with an informative speech in which the meaning, purpose and importance of Ramadan was explained to the children and subsequent celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr was being told. After the wonderful introduction, the students sang a Ramadan song and also presented a dance in the traditional attire which further elucidated on how Ramadan is celebrated. The special assembly was successful in conveying the significance of Ramadan. May the spirit of Ramadan stay in our hearts and illuminate our souls from within. Ramadan Mubarak!

Vacations are fun-filled, vibrant and colourful times. Before they start the long awaited vacations, the students made an eye mask for themselves. Making an eye mask can lift the child’s spirits and make her smile. It is an interesting activity and enhances the artistic side of our little champs. Students enjoyed putting on masks that magically transformed their looks. As the little Presidians are ready are ready to embark on their vacation, mask making is a perfect activity to set them in the mood of fun and frolic before ending school. It was a fascinating experience to witness them being transformed into some of the sought after characters who also awakened their thought process.

FOOD FAIR: PRESIDIANS SAVOUR THE VIBRANCY OF INDIAN FOOD

Indian food is one of the tastiest and subtlest in the world. As we know India is a diverse country. It has many states and every state has different kind of food. We celebrated this diversity in food by organizing a food fair. Children of grade 3 brought food items of different states and showcased it at the fair. Our Chairperson, Sudha Gupta ma'am also joined the fair and added glitter to the event by her presence . Children shared the specialty of that food with ma'am, Vice-Principals and teachers. Sudha Gupta Ma’am interacted with children who were representing different states and their regional food. This activity helped children to learn new names of different dishes and from which state those dishes belong to. Children understood how diverse varieties of the food we eat and why people of those states eat them.
