REJOICING A JOYFUL CHILDREN’S DAY AT PRESIDIUM INDIRAPURAM

To increase the awareness of people towards the rights, care and education of children, the Children’s Day was recently celebrated with a special assembly at Presidium, Indirapuram. The day marks the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, who was renowned to be very affectionate towards children and thus, became famous as Chacha Nehru. The assembly area was decorated enticingly according to the theme of the program - love and roses. It was a delight to see the adorable children dressed up in white coloured Kurta Pyjamas along with Nehru caps. The celebration began with a classical dance performance and a few children took initiative to throw light on this occasion. Then, the little ones performed on a foot tapping number and went down the stage to invite the teachers to join them in for a dance, proving that the soul is healed by being with children.

अंतर्कक्षा वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता: उच्च रचनात्मकता का प्रदर्शन

हाल ही में प्रिसीडियम इंदिरापुरम में विद्यार्थियों के लिए ‘अंतर्कक्षा वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता’ का आयोजन किया गया, जिस में कक्षा ६-८ तक के विदयार्थियों ने बढ़-चढ़ कर भाग लिया। प्रतियोगिता दो चरणों में आयोजित की गई। प्रथम चरण के विषय थे - 'अध्यापकों द्वारा गृहकार्य देना विद्यार्थियों के लिए लाभदायक है', 'इंटरनेट का बच्चों पर प्रभाव सकारात्मक है' एवं 'बच्चों का उग्र स्वभाव समाज के लिए प्रगतिशील है'। वहीँ द्वितीय चरण के विषय इस प्रकार थे – 'मशीनी अध्यापक, मानवी अध्यापक का प्रभावी विकल्प है', 'आज के समय में अभिभावकीय दबाव बच्चों के लिए अच्छा है' एवं 'वर्तमान शिक्षा युवाओं को भविष्य के लिए तैयार नहीं करती'। विद्यार्थियों ने दिए गए विषयों के अनुसार अपनी कक्षा के समक्ष वाद-विवाद के लिए अपने तर्क पक्ष/विपक्ष में प्रस्तुत किए। प्रस्तुतिकरण हेतु उन्हें २ से २.५ मिनट का समय दिया गया था। प्रत्येक कक्षा में से दो विजेताओं को विषयवस्तु, अभिव्यक्ति और प्रस्तुतिकरण जैसे मूल्यांकन बिन्दुओं के आधार पर चुना गया, जिसके आधार पर वे द्वितीय चरण में अपना स्थान बना पाए। विजेताओं को ढेर सारे प्रोत्साहन के साथ-साथ प्रार्थना-सभा में पुरस्कार भी दिए गए। प्रेसीडीअंस द्वारा विषयों को अच्छी तरह समझकर उसके पक्ष/विपक्ष में बड़े उत्साह के साथ तर्क प्रस्तुत करते देख उनकी रचनात्मकता, ज्ञान व समकालीन समस्याओं के प्रति जागरूकता को दर्शाया गया।

PRESIDIANS SAY NO TO PLASTIC BAGS FOR A HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENT

Plastic is an environmental Hazard and polythene bags are polluting land, water and air because they are non-biodegradable. Considering their undue responsibility towards protecting the environment by creating awareness among their fellow mates to restrict the use of poly bags, our little Presidians of grade 1 and 2 organized a special assembly at Presidium, Indirapuram. They participated in activities like poster making and paper bag making to promote the use of paper bags through a rally. They marched in the school premises with the slogan 'say no to poly bags' and 'make use of paper bags'. It was a wonderful effort taken by the little children and their efforts were appreciated by all the people around.

Here at Presidium, we give ample opportunities to students to come out of shade and show the best they have. In order to bring out the talents and uniqueness of our grade 4 and 5 students, a ‘Talent Hunt’ competition was recently organized at Presidium, Indirapuram. The Presidians enthusiastically participated and executed their talent very well through an array of amazing performances. Showcasing their varied talents like dancing, singing, mimicry and playing instruments, the leaders of tomorrow received much praise and applaud. It was immense pleasure to see the blooming stars spreading their light around.

PRESIDIANS FONDLY CELEBRATE GURPURAB WITH THE SPIRIT OF DEVOTION

To celebrate the pious birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the students of grade 2 recently presented a special assembly. Dressed as small Sardar Jis and Sardarnis, the students prepared a scene of ‘Langar’ at the Gurudwara and presented it with full enthusiasm. Then, a few children spoke about the importance and history of celebrating Guru Nanak Jayanti. The talented Presidians also spoke about few preachings of Guru Nanak Ji. After explaining reason, purpose and preachings of the festival, children did a beautiful prayer on ‘Ek Onkar’ and bowed their head in front of Guru Nanak Ji’s picture, which filled everyone's hearts with the spirit of devotion.

PRESIDIANS OBSERVE NATIONAL INTEGRATION DAY WITH GREAT ZEAL

Celebrating the voluminous beauty of togetherness and capturing the quintessence of ‘unity in diversity’, the grade 3 students of Presidium Indirapuram recently presented a special assembly on National Integration Day, also called Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The assembly started with the morning prayer, news headlines and the thought for the day. Dressed in different cultural attires, the students presented a beautiful theatrical act encompassing a vibrant display of colours, festivity and nationalism. They also depicted their view of unity in diversity and presented a dance performance, in which students stressed that cultural differences should not separate us from each other; rather cultural diversity brings a collective strength that can benefit all humanity. Depicting that the entire humanity is one family irrespective of geographical, racial or linguistic barriers, the assembly concluded with filling the leaders of tomorrow with great zeal and enthusiasm with the National Anthem.

The importance of sports and games in school encompasses increase in self-esteem and mental alertness!
Considering that games and sports are an integral part of a student’s life as they enable us to enjoy the health and vigour of life, Presidium Indirapuram recently organized the Annual Sports Day. Students enthusiastically participated in different sports activities and races with the goal of reaching the finishing line and the urge of winning the medal. Besides participating, the Presidians also acted as cheer leaders for their fellow mates, hence, showing exemplary team spirit and the healthy competition. Painted with the colours of contentment, sense of pride and achievement, the winners' faces were illuminated with wholesome smiles.

SPARSH SPECIAL CHILDREN INSPIRE PRESIDIANS WITH LOVE & KINDNESS

We at Presidium, try to inculcate the virtue of love and compassion! In an attempt to make our young students more giving, sharing and supportive, they were recently shown a heart touching video and presentation of 'Sparsh', an NGO, which helps a special section of the society to lead a life of respect and dignity. Sensitizing Presidians of Indirapuram towards such causes and giving back to community, the orientation enlightened them and worked as a insightful reminder to bring a small change in someone's life. The video intrigued the students and made them overawed about the situation to do something for the special children of Sparsh.
